MIRPUR (AJK): Feb. 09: United Group clinched land-slide victory in the annual elections to office bearers of the District Bar Association Mirpur held here on Saturday.
Distinguished seasoned lawyer Mahmood Hussain Choudhry Advocate and Muhammad Fayaz Choudhry Advocate have been elected President and General Secretary respectively of the District Bar Association Mirpur, AJK, in the annual elections completed here on Saturday for stipulated one year constitutional term of year 2025-26, it was officially said.

The official results of the annual elections to the DBA office bearers were announced by the DBA Elections Board here late Saturday night.

Other office bearers elected in the polls included Ms. Aasima Majeed Advocate ( Vice President- Reserved Office for Lady Lawyers securing 431 votes), Gul Bahar Advocate (Vice President), Mian Muhammad Adnan Saeed Advocate (Joint Secretary), Syed Abu Al Hassan Kazmi Advocate (Secretary Finance ), Sajjad ul Haq Advocate. ( Publicity Secretary) and Qamar Yaseen Advocate ( Secretary Library).

The victorious DBA President Mahmood Hussain Choudhry Advocate Palakvi Advocate, nominee of the United Group, secured 406 votes defeating his only rival candidate Ch. Tariq Mahmood Advocate, who bagged 262 votes.

Two panels had reportedly landed their respective candidates against each other in the elections. The victorious Vice President Gul Bahar Advocate bagged 445 votes against his rival Khalid Javed Advocate who bagged 201 votes.

Likewise newly-elected Secretary General Muhammad Fayaz Choudhry Advocate obtained 426 votes defeating his only rival Gul Abraaz Khan Advocate who could secure 242 votes.

Similarly newly elected Joint Secretary Mian Muhammad Adnan Saeed Advocate, newly-elected Secretary Finance Syed Abu Al Hassan Kazmi Advocate, newly-elected Publicity Secretary Sajjad ul Haq Advocate and newly-elected Secretary Library Qamar Yaseen Advocate respectively obtained 435, 308, 355 and 367 votes respectively, according to the results.

The polling held in an absolutely peaceful manner.
