MIRPUR (AJK): April 12 : Azad Jammu Kashmir Minister for Physical Planning Yasir Sultan Chaudhry, while referring to the local long cherished demand for establishment of an international airport in Mirpur, the city of over a million of UK based Kashmiri expatriates, said that initial work for emergence of the much needed Mirpur International Airport has been started and the AJK Government was determined to establish the Airport meeting the much prolonged local public demand.
The Minister added that the incumbent AJK government was determined to provide quality higher education in various professional disciplines to produce quality future architects of the nation.
He was speaking as chief guest at a reception, hosted in his honour by the City’s distinguished civil society notable including Prof. Dr. Naeem Ratayal, newly inducted Registrar Mirpur University of Science & technology, Dr. Azeem Rattayal, Javed Akhter Ratayal, Muhammad Nawaz Rattayal, Danayal Ratayal, Halal Ratayal and others.
City elite from diverse segments of the civil society including Dr. Azeem Ratyal, Nawaz Ratyal, Khalid Ratyal, Professor Shahzada Iqbal, Prof. Dr. Anzer of the Electrical Engineering Department of MUST, Sr. Professor Electrical Engineering Department and ex DSA MUST Prof. Dr. Shahid Amin, Engineer Attique. Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society AJK Chapter Sardar Shafeeq, ex city Administrator Qayyum Qamer, Sohail Shujah Mujahid, Babar Ali Khan Advocate, ex AJKCCI President Faisal Manzoor and Sohail Shuja Mujahid, Sr. Kashmiri Journalist Altaf Hamid Rao, the area’s councillor Ch. Jehangeer and others while addressing the ceremony, paid rich tributes to the AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry and the sitting AJK government for focusing special attention to ensure quality higher education under the able guidance and leadership of the Prime Minister Ch. Anwar ul Haq, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Brig. ( Retd) Younis Javed and Secretary Higher Education AJK Government Muhammad Tayyeb Chaudhry and other seasoned academicians.
Unveiling the top priorities of the popularly-elected sitting AJK government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Minister Yasir Sultan
said that the government has taken off to achieve the fruits of its multi-prong priorities including the Kashmir freedom struggle, emergence of the rule of good governance and the speedy socio-economic progress and prosperity through the delivery of quality education in the liberated territory of AJK.
Applauding MUST for the delivery of quality education in over 25 disciplines of science, engineering and information technology, the minister called upon the students to lend all of their skills and talent to be emerged as the quality future architects of the nation – since they will have to take the command of the nation in the future.
Underlining their due responsibilities to raise the Kashmir issue both at national and international level, Yasir Sultan advised the students to ensure maximum use of the social media for highlighting the importance of early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue, which, he added, involved the legitimate right of self determination of over 20 million people of the Jammu & Kashmir state. Our young generation, the minister added, will have to move for positive use of this fast rising regime of information technology to apprise the external world of the ugly situation of Indian-occupied Jammu & Kashmir which was reeling the history worst era of state terrorism and human rights abuses by the occupational forces for raising the voice of freedom of the motherland from the Indian subjugation.
Concluding the AJK Minister said that economically strong, prosperous and democratic Pakistan enriched with strong credibility the world over was the guarantee to the freedom of Jammu & Kashmir from Indian yoke. He said that India shall have to be pressed for moving for result-oriented talks with Pakistan and the people of Jammu & Kashmir for the peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue.
Yasir Sultan strongly condemned the continued reign of state terrorism in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmri where India was massively using the worst weapons of pallot guns to blind the young boys and girls to suppress their voice of freedom. He said it was so sad to note that our brethren and sisters in the bleeding occupied Kashmir valley were taking only one time food instead of three times in 24 hours because of the era of starvation since long.
