MIRPUR (AJK): July 25: District and Tehsil level flood emergency warning centers – cum – control rooms are being set up in all districts of Azad Jammu Kashmir in order to swiftly deal with any eventuality during just started monsoon following impending heavy rains and flood ravages in the seasonal nullahs and lakes particularly in the low-lying areas, official sources said.

Concerned AJK Govt. authorotative sources told our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent on Wednrsday that the district-level emergency flood warning center were being set up under the supervision of the District Disaster Management Authority – the D.C – similar to at all other offices of the Deputy Commissioners in all ten districts of AJK. With the required well alerted staffers belonging to 1122 rescuers and civil defence volunteers and Red Crescent Society, AJK Chapter, these centers will function round the clock for bringing about immediate necessary safety steps in case of any emergency in any part of all the districts across the liberated territory

The District Disaster Management Authority works under the command of the AJK State Disaster Management Authority.

Mirpur Deputy Commissioner Yasir Riaz Chaudhry told this Correspondent here on Wednesday that the warning centers cum control rooms at district and sub division level would function round the clock to monitor and assess impending floods hazards besides getting alert to receive early warning from the higher authorities monitoring the flood situation in adjoining areas of Pakistan including the Jhelum district besides from the districts located at upper reaches of AJK – for immediate onward transmission to the population dwelling in the low-lying areas including those located close to the Mangla lake as well as the seasonal nullahs and the rivers passing through this district besides other concerned districts in the AJK State.

The Disaster Management Authority of AJK, the DC Yasir Riaz Chsudhry told this news agency on Wednrsday that the district-level emergency centers including in Mirpur-AJK, besides in other districts could be contacted through the official telephone Nos. at the concerned D.C offices throughout AJK as and when required for any due assistance in case of any eventuality.

Similarly the Mirpur tehsil level emergency centers could be approached through telephones at Assistant Commissioner office at all three sub divisional headquarters of Mirpur, Islamgarg and Dadayal where tehsil-level emergency center could be contacted through telephone if needed round the clock, he revealed. Mirpur district is comprising the above three sub divisions headed by the Assistant Commissioners, the Deputy Commissioner Yasir Riaz ch. Said.

People across AJK, the sources underlined, would be able to contact the concerned emergency centers of their concerned district to inquire about the forecast of the impending flood as well as in case of any emergent situation following the impending flood ravages during the monsoon rains to deal with any eventuality immediately.
