MIRPUR ( AJK): February 24: : In the wake of the extensive drive by the authorities to net illicit profiteers of the daily use items including ediblesin Mirpur, the city magistrate Raja Ayaz Ahmed Khan led administrative cum police team conducted surprise checking of ygr price control in Chichiyan and other Bazaars in outskirts of ygr city and booked several shopkeepers for overcharging the prices against those fixed by the administration, it was officially said.

The Revenue Officer cum duty magistrate Raja Ayaz inspected the shops and prices of fruits, vegetables, meat, chicken, biryani, samosa, pakoras, and gave instructions to the shopkeepers to sell items to the people according to the fixed rates a district administration spokesman Javed Malik told this Correspondent here Tuesday.

“Some of the shopkeepers were fined for not displaying the rate list at conspecious place on their shops, besides for charging excessive prices, and many were given warnings”, the spokesman said.

The Revenue Officer asked the shopkeepers and consumers to buy and sell food items according to the rate lists. “No one can be allowed to buy and sell artificial inflation or substandard and defective items”, he warned declaring to initiate legal action against the violators.

” If the public has any complaint against any shopkeeper, they should bring it to the notice of the administration and it will be redressed immediately”, magistrates Ayaz Raja said.
