MIRPUR ( AJK): December 1st : Taking immediate notice of the forced closure of the main entring gates of the State-run Mirpur University of Science & Technology in Mirpur AJK, by the Varsity students, the top management of the Varsity has advised the students on strike to open the gates immediately for resumption of the stalled academic activities in the main city campus of the Varsity, it was officially said.

According to an official press release issued by the Varsity here on Monday, a meeting of the University’s Senior Management was convened on Monday to address the forced and unlawful closure of the University gates by the students.

The press release continued as saying “After careful deliberation, the following decisions were made:

The University emphasizes that it has always remained receptive to and supportive of the legitimate concerns and demands of its students. However, the current act of closing the University gates represents a continuation of a troubling pattern involving forceful closures, despite the University’s consistent efforts to resolve student issues through cooperation and dialogue.

While the University remains fully committed to addressing student matters, the closure of the University gates as well as the gate of Ghazi Elahi Buksh Girls Degree College Mirpur is deemed unacceptable. Students are therefore advised to immediately reopen all gates.

“Failure to comply will result in the initiation of disciplinary proceedings starting tomorrow. These proceedings will be conducted by the Central Discipline Committee (CDC) to identify individuals involved in the closure of the gates. The CDC is scheduled to meet on December 2, 2025, at 1:30 PM”, the PR said.

The University reaffirms its commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and academically conducive environment for all”, the PR concluded.
