NAEAC Accreditation Visit Strengthens Academic Excellence at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan

Multan, January 20, 2026: Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan (MNSUAM) hosted a prestigious visit by a nominated team of the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC), affiliated with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), for the accreditation of five key degree programs: Agronomy, Biotechnology, Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Plant Breeding & Genetics.

The inaugural session was attended by NAEAC Secretary Dr. Abdul Ghaffar and other eminent members, including Prof. (Retd.) Dr. Riaz Ahmad, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Dr. Hafiz Khurram Shurjeel, Prof. Dr. Sultan Habibullah Khan, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Imran ul Haq, and Mr. Muhammad Faraz Afzal. University officials, including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asif Ali (T.I.), Deans, Directors, Chairpersons, and faculty, welcomed the team with a detailed briefing. Prof. Dr. Dawood Jan, VC of University of Agriculture Swat, also joined the session.

Prof. Dr. Asif Ali presented MNSUAM’s historical development, academic achievements, research initiatives, patents, entrepreneurial activities, recruitment drives, rankings, awards, alumni engagement, community outreach, and infrastructural progress. He emphasized the need to assess graduates’ skills and proficiency, highlighted the importance of practical and demand-driven agricultural education, and proposed structural reforms to enhance NAEAC’s effectiveness.

Dr. Abdul Ghaffar delivered an informative session on “Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education,” explaining NAEAC’s standards and sub-standards, stressing the role of accreditation in improving academic quality, ensuring structured program development, and aligning universities with national benchmarks.

Following the presentations, each NAEAC member conducted thorough departmental inspections. The visits included reviews of course files, board of studies (BOS) and board of faculty (BOF) meeting records, assessment methods, admission and withdrawal policies, dropouts, CGPA averages, and faculty qualifications. Laboratories, libraries, greenhouses, experimental farms, teaching methods, curriculum, internship reports, research facilities, hostels, and practical learning setups were carefully evaluated. Meaningful interactions with faculty and students provided deeper insights into departmental strengths and learning outcomes.

The committee lauded MNSUAM’s hands-on learning environment, modern technology, and well-equipped laboratories. They appreciated the commitment to practical training, research, and academic excellence, while providing recommendations for further improvement. Members expressed admiration for the Vice Chancellor’s leadership and vision in rapidly elevating the university’s standards.

The visit concluded with mutual acknowledgment of efforts, emphasizing MNSUAM’s dedication to academic growth, research development, and producing competent agricultural graduates aligned with national and international benchmarks. Prof. Dr. Asif Ali expressed gratitude to the NAEAC team for their thorough evaluation and constructive feedback.
