The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Qatar hosted a prestigious event to celebrate Oman’s 54th National Day, attended by esteemed dignitaries and representatives. The ceremony began with the national anthems of both Oman and Qatar, symbolizing the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.

Prominent guests included His Excellency Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, Chairman of the Shura Council; His Excellency Ghanim bin Shaheen Al Ghanim, Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs; His Excellency Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Minister of Municipality; His Excellency Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; and His Excellency Ambassador Ali Ibrahim Ahmed, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Eritrea.

The Ambassador of Oman reflected on the nation’s transformative journey since the Omani Renaissance in 1970, led by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said. Under the current leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Oman continues to move forward with determination toward a prosperous future guided by strategic visions.

The Ambassador reiterated Oman’s steadfast foreign policy centered on dialogue, tolerance, and peace. Highlighting the ongoing crises in the Middle East, he called for a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, the lifting of the siege on civilians, and the establishment of safe humanitarian corridors. Oman reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian cause, advocating for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international law and United Nations resolutions.

Amid global challenges, including economic and security concerns, Oman underscored its belief in dialogue and cooperation as the cornerstone for achieving collective security and stability, rejecting military solutions and double standards.

The Ambassador praised the enduring ties between Oman and Qatar, nurtured by the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. These strong bilateral relations, grounded in kinship and cooperation, continue to grow across various sectors.

The event also spotlighted Oman Vision 2040, the nation’s blueprint for sustainable development. The vision focuses on enhancing education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, alongside implementing financial policies to ensure economic stability and attract international investment. Reforms under the medium-term financial plan (2021–2025) have bolstered Oman’s credit rating and its reputation as an attractive destination for global investors.

The Sultanate’s ambitious clean energy initiatives were a key highlight. Oman aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, with plans to produce over one million tons of green hydrogen by 2030 and scale up to eight million tons by 2050. These projects strengthen Oman’s position in the global clean energy sector, diversify energy sources, and foster international investment partnerships.

The Ambassador expressed heartfelt thanks to Qatari officials and citizens for their hospitality and support. He also acknowledged fellow diplomats, embassy staff, and all attendees for their cooperation and dedication. The event concluded with a reaffirmation of Oman’s commitment to fostering global peace, dialogue, and progress while honoring its heritage and aspirations.

This celebration marked a significant milestone in Oman’s journey, reflecting its achievements and aspirations for a peaceful and prosperous future.
