NEW YORK: Dec 21: Veteran USA-Based Kashmir Freedom struggle leader Raja Muzaffar, wrapped in his Kashmiri Pheran (traditional loose Giwn) on this International Day of Pheran, standing warm in the snow and proud in his identity.
Pheren is more than winter clothing; it is Kashmiris living flag, our history, resilience.
“Kashmiris are a nation – in their language, their food, their art, their faith and their timeless traditions that no border can erase”, said Raja Muzaffar in an informal chat with our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao over telephone on Sunday while exchanging greetings to mark International Pheren Day celebrated at both sides of the line of control in Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the world where Kashmiris live in.
