Doha, October 19 (QNA) – A round of negotiations was held in Doha between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Afghanistan, mediated by the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkiye.
Both sides agreed to an immediate ceasefire and to the establishment of mechanisms aimed at consolidating lasting peace and stability between the two countries.
The two parties also agreed to hold follow-up meetings in the coming days to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire and to verify its implementation in a reliable and lasting manner, in a way that contributes to achieving security and stability in both countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar’s hope that this important step would contribute to ending tensions between the two brotherly countries and serve as a solid foundation for sustainable peace in the region.
