MIRPUR (AJK), April 10 – US-based Acting Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (Yasin) Raja Muzaffar has welcomed Pakistan’s successful diplomatic role in facilitating the US–Iran ceasefire process, expressing hope that the upcoming “Islamabad Accord” could mark a turning point for regional and global peace.
Raja Muzaffar, who also serves as Chairman of the Kashmir Peace Committee and the Dallas-based Peace and Justice Center, said in a telephonic interview from the United States that despite being confined to rest due to a cardiac ailment, he has closely followed ongoing diplomatic developments in the region. He described the ceasefire negotiations in Islamabad between the United States and Iran as a “promising moment” for stability.
He said Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy reflects its growing credibility as a mediator, facilitator, and bridge-builder in complex international conflicts. According to him, Islamabad’s balanced and solution-oriented approach has strengthened its position as a trusted platform for constructive dialogue and conflict resolution.
Raja Muzaffar added that Pakistan’s role in this high-level engagement carries significance beyond the immediate US–Iran context. He said it could help restore broader international confidence in Pakistan’s diplomatic capacity and open new avenues for engagement on long-standing regional disputes, including the Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan.
He further noted that if major global powers, particularly the United States, continue to support dialogue-based solutions, the current momentum could serve as a model for future peace initiatives.
“We remain hopeful that this process will lead to lasting peace and cooperation, not only between the United States and Iran but across South Asia and beyond,” he said.
The Kashmiri leader emphasized that sustained diplomatic engagement, mutual trust, and inclusive dialogue are essential for achieving long-term stability in the region, urging all stakeholders to support the ongoing peace efforts in Islamabad.
