Karachi, February 12 – Pakistan completed their highest-ever successful run chase in One Day Internationals, defeating South Africa by six wickets in the Tri-Nation Series on Wednesday. The thrilling match saw brilliant centuries from Salman Agha and Mohammad Rizwan as Pakistan reached the target of 353 runs with six balls to spare.
South Africa, missing key players, set a challenging total of 352/5, thanks to strong half-centuries from captain Temba Bavuma (82), Matthew Breetzke (83), and Heinrich Klaasen (87). On a flat pitch with a fast outfield, their total seemed formidable.
Pakistan’s chase faltered early at 91-3, but Agha and Rizwan mounted an incredible recovery with a record-breaking 260-run partnership. Agha scored 134 runs for his maiden ODI century, while Rizwan remained unbeaten on 122, guiding his team to victory.
