Pakistani Envoy in Doha Urges Accountants to Lead with Integrity, Unity

Doha, November 4, 2025 — The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the State of Qatar, Muhammad Aamer, has called on Pakistani chartered accountants in Qatar to continue upholding the highest standards of excellence and unity, emphasizing that their conduct abroad reflects the nation’s values and professional caliber.
Speaking at the “President Meet-up and Recognition Ceremony” organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) Qatar Chapter, Ambassador Aamer praised the contributions of Pakistani professionals in enhancing the country’s global image. He encouraged members to strengthen professional collaboration and community bonds while maintaining Pakistan’s reputation for competence and integrity in the financial sector.
The ceremony, held at the Embassy of Pakistan auditorium, also featured an awareness session on the newly introduced IFRS 18 standards, underscoring ICAP’s ongoing commitment to professional development and regulatory excellence.
The event was attended by ICAP President Saif Ullah, FCA; Chairman of the Overseas Coordination Committee Muhammad Ali Latif, FCA; ICAP Qatar Chapter Chairman Usman Anwar; Pakistan Business Council Qatar (PBCQ) President Muhammad Israr Malazai; Past President Fawad Rana; embassy officials; and a large number of Qatar-based ICAP members.
In his welcome remarks, Usman Anwar highlighted the significance of fostering collaboration among Pakistani professionals and engaging with the wider Qatari business community.
Delivering his keynote, ICAP President Saif Ullah shared the institute’s recent achievements and strategic direction, noting that 40 percent of new ICAP enrollments are female, reflecting a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. He also discussed facility expansions to support the institute’s growing membership and efforts to enhance international affiliations, ensuring that ICAP remains an influential voice in the global accounting community.
Muhammad Ali Latif, FCA, Chairman of ICAP’s Overseas Coordination Committee, outlined a progressive vision for international chapters, focusing on innovation, strategic partnerships, and sustainable growth.
Representatives of the Pakistan Business Council Qatar, including Muhammad Israr Malazai and Fawad Rana, expressed their readiness to strengthen partnerships between Pakistani professionals and the local business ecosystem in Qatar.
The ceremony concluded with a recognition segment, celebrating long-standing members for their dedication and service. Ejaz Ahmed Magoon received the Gold Award, while Bronze Membership Awards were presented to Muhammad Aqeel Khan, Mohammad Ali Dada, Usman Anwar, Mehmood Aziz, Haroon Ahmed, Muhammad Imran Siddiqui, Iftikhar Ahmed, Muhammad Usman Aleem, Assad Abbas Khan, Muhammad Shahid Razzaq, Nabeel Ahmad, Rahat Hussain, Khawaja Ali Usman, Touseef Iqbal Sethi, Muhammad Duraiz Khan, Aman Ullah Khan, Aisha Fazal, Muhammad Farrukh, Naeem Ahmed Khan, Syed Yousuf Hasan, and Maaz Rafiq Butt for over 15 years of membership.
The ICAP Qatar Chapter, comprising around 100 male and female members, is managed by an elected committee for the 2025–2027 term, led by Usman Anwar (Chairman), Waqar Ahmed Toor (Vice Chairman), Syeda Mehrunnisa (Secretary), Faheemuddin Chawla (Treasurer), and Waleed Tauqeer Qureshi (Member).
