ISLAMABAD, April 11: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday met with U.S. Vice President JD Vance in Islamabad amid ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ending recent hostilities in the Middle East, according to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Vance arrived in the Pakistani capital earlier in the day to participate in high-level discussions involving the Iranian delegation as part of broader peace negotiations hosted by Pakistan.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif welcomed the constructive engagement of both the U.S. and Iranian delegations and expressed hope that the talks would pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating dialogue between the two sides and supporting all efforts toward achieving sustainable regional peace.
Earlier on Saturday, the prime minister also met with members of the Iranian delegation, who arrived in Islamabad ahead of the latest round of negotiations.
