PCB approves major budget for 2024-25 Season

Lahore, 6 July 2024: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) held its 72nd Board of Governors (BoG) meeting at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Chaired by Mohsin Naqvi, the meeting included key officials such as COO Salman Naseer, CFO Javed Murtaza, Director Domestic Abdullah Khurram Niazi, and BoG members Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Sajjad Ali Khokhar, Zafarullah Jadgal, Tanvir Ahmed, Tariq Sarwar, Dr. Anwar Ahmed Khan, Mohammad Ismail Qureshi, Mairaj Mehmood, and Usama Azhar.

The PCB approved the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, which includes a development budget of 12.8 billion rupees for upgrading Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Rawalpindi Stadium, and National Bank Stadium, Karachi. Additionally, 4.5 billion rupees are allocated for the 2024-25 domestic season. The Women’s Cricket budget increased from 70 million to 240 million rupees, with higher remuneration for women players’ central contracts.

The PCB will manage 12 cricket grounds and fund ground staff at 100 grounds nationwide. Plans for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy and strategies to enhance domestic cricket quality were discussed. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi assured that upgradation work at major venues will be completed on time, and world-class facilities will be arranged for the event.
