PCB Chief Naqvi Urges Nation to Support Cricket Team Ahead of T20 World Cup
“Let’s support our players win or lose; we stand with them,” said PCB Chief Zaka Ashraf Naqvi, encouraging the nation to back the cricket team in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
An evening filled with green ties, selfies, and prayers for victory set the tone for the T20 match between Pakistan and England at London’s Oval stadium. The men in green shirts were hosted at Pakistan House in London for a dinner reception, just weeks before the World Cup.
The event, held at the official residence of the Pakistan High Commissioner in the upscale Hampstead suburb, drew a large crowd of men, women, and children eager to see their favorite cricketers. The road leading to the house was lined with cars and the official tour bus of the men’s cricket team.
Inside, there was a buzz of excitement as fans gathered to catch a glimpse of their favorite players and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, who made an appearance to cheer on the team. The evening underscored the nation’s collective hope and support for the cricket team as they prepare for the World Cup.
