LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has restructured the national men’s selection committee following the recent removal of Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq as selectors.
Previously part of a seven-member committee, Wahab and Razzaq joined Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Yousuf, data analyst Bilal Afzal, and the national team’s head coaches and captain. However, after Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the recent T20 World Cup, the committee now consists of four voting members and five non-voting members.
The voting members include Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Yousuf, the team captain, and the head coach of the relevant format. Non-voting members are assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, PCB chairman advisor Bilal, manager analytics and team strategy Hasan Cheema, director high-performance Nadeem Khan, and director international cricket Usman Wahla. The committee still lacks a chairperson.
The changes, though not officially announced, are reflected on the PCB’s website. Asad Shafiq will also continue as a member of the national women’s team selection committee, joined by former international Batool Fatima, the team captain, and head coach. This committee has no non-voting members.
