MIRPUR ( AJK): Nov. 21 : Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch Khawar Ali Shaukat Friday paid an official visit to the Women Police Station Rawalakot to review its performance besidrs inquiring about and discuss, with the staff, the pace of disposal of ongoing cases and public service standards, it was officially said.
During the briefing, officials informed the SSP that 157 complaints have been received so far this year, out of which 10 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered after due process. Over the past two years, the station has handled a total of 722 complaints, resulting in 43 FIRs, A Rawalakot District Police later told our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao on Friday.
SSP Khawar Ali Shaukat appreciated the efforts of the officers and emphasized the importance of maintaining a professional, respectful, and service-oriented approach. He directed the staff to entertain the complainants politely ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment for women seeking help. He further directed to dispose off the cases strictly on merit at the earliest possible time.
It is worthwhile to mention that SSP Khawar Ali Shaukat was the officer who took the initiative and formally recommended the establishment of the Women Police Station in Rawalakot, recognizing the need for an accessible and dedicated facility to address women’s issues more effectively.
