MIRPUR ( AJK): August 3: AJK-based private-sector educational institutions (schools) once again secured distinction establishing domination in the overall results achieveing higher positions as compared to their contemporaryies in the public sector in results of annual matriculation examinations (final-2025) held under the auspices of Azad Jammu Kashmir Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Mirpur.

These views were expressed by Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Bukhari, Advocate, Central President, Azad Jammu Kashmir Private Schools and Colleges Association, while addressing the office bearers of IPSCA District Muzaffarabad in the state metropolis late Saturday.

He continued that 89 students from private educational institutions won the first, second and third positions in entire examination in the first 20 positions as compared to the government-run educational institutions who secured only 07 positions.

The overall result of the private-sector educational institutions remained 88 percent as compared to 83% achieved by government run educational schools across Azad Jammu Kashmir.

For the last 03 decades, private educational institutions have been claiming upto 19 out of the first 20 positions in entire Board’ examination at the matriculation and intermediate levels.

Now, even the first 03 positions in the university are often taken by private educational institutions.
More than 95% of the students in medical colleges, engineering universities and other competitive examinations belong to private educational institutions.

Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Bukhari said that quality education was always delivered by the private- education sector.

“On one hand, the annual budget of Rs. 4500 crore and only 07 positions secured by public sector schools in the entire examination as compared to 89 positions and 88% results achieved by the private sector was crystal clear of the fact that the dream of a bright future for the new generation could not be realized without the participation of the private education sector.

Syed Ishtiaq Bukhari said that if we look at the results of last year and its subsequent years, it is revealed that out of the first 20 positions of the board, 61 children belonged to the private education sector, similarly in 2023, 91 out of 94 students belonged to the private education sector.

Keeping in mind the excellent results of the last three decades, we demand that if the government of Azad Jammu Kashmir wanted to promote quality education through a positive educational system, the basic education up to matriculation should be given to the private education sector under private public partnership, he suggested.

The central president of IPSKA congratulated the owners, students, teachers and parents of the institutions that gave excellent results securing prominent prominent positions in the examination.
