MIRPUR ( AJK): Feb. 13: The PMS Association of officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK Government has taken serious notice of the recent suspension orders of certain PMS Officers demanding immediate withdrawal of the suspension orders, it was officially said.
Noman Wazir, Chairman PMS Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said in a press statement released to the national and regional media on Friday, that recent suspension orders of PMS Officers for alleged failure to stop illegal mining activities within their jurisdiction raised eyebrows for maligning the services of young PMS Officers in district Nowshera and District Kohat. While PMS Officers have been suspended, PAS officer, allegedly responsible for the same “alleged” failure have been merely reported to the establishment department.
“Two different notifications with different wordings speaks volumes of the unfair treatment meted out to PMS officers as compared to PAS officers, who have always been protected and saved by the federal bureaucracy”, the press statement said.
“The stoppage of illegal mining activity is the prime responsibility of Mines and Mineral Department and Police, whereas Assistant Commissioner of a Tehsil acts as Magistrate, to try cases and impose penalty upon the culprits. Such arbitrary actions against officers without any substantial evidence needs to stop forthwith”, the PMS Association chief strongly urged
