MIRPUR ( AJK): October 13: In order to ensure a uniform merit-based timely admission against quota seats in a seamless, transparent and convenient manner, the Punjab Government has decided that students from AJK, intending to get admission on Azad Jammu & Kashmir quota seats for admission in the upcoming academic session 2025-26 and onwards shall apply directly on the online admission portal of the Admitting University i.e. the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore. The UHS, Lahore shall determine the inter-se merit of the students and offer admission to these Azad Jammu & Kashmir students, it was officially announced.
According to the Admission Policy approved by the Provincial Government, thirty nine (39) seats have been reserved for students hailing from Azad Jammu & Kashmir for admission to MBBS/ BDS course in public sector medical and dental colleges in Punjab.
Unveiling the revised procedure of admission for the AJK students aspirant of taking admission against the stipulated 39 seats, the Provincial Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department (Medical Education Wing) has informed, through a letter to the Principal AJ&K, Medical College / Chairman Joint Admission Committee, Azad Government of the State of Jammu & Kashmir that in view of above, no nomination shall be accepted for admission against thirty nine (39) Azad Jammu & Kashmir-quota seats in the upcoming admission cycle 2025-26.
“The AJK Students / aspirant candidates may be informed accordingly”, the official letter added.
