PWF & Qatar Charity Unite for Annual Sahoor Event

PWF and Qatar Charity Strengthen Commitment to Community Welfare at annual Sahoor fundraising dinner

The Pakistan Welfare Forum (PWF), in collaboration with Qatar Charity (QC), successfully hosted its annual Sahoor fundraising dinner, attracting a wide array of professionals, businessmen, and philanthropists from the Pakistani community in Qatar. The event’s goal was to showcase the progress made by PWF, present future plans, and raise essential funds for welfare projects benefiting low-income families and workers year-round.
The evening commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Hasnain Khalid Bhatti, followed by a beautiful naat by Mohammed Idrees, which touched the hearts of all present. The national anthems of Qatar and Pakistan were played with deep respect, setting a solemn yet festive atmosphere. The event was elegantly hosted by Anwar Ali Rana, ensuring a smooth flow throughout the evening.
Among the distinguished guests were Fareed Khalil Siddiqui, Head of Local Projects at Qatar Charity; Khalid Fakhroo, Former QC Representative; Mohammed Ali Al Maal, Head of Help Desk at QC; Abdul Azeez Alardashi, Coordinator Collection Dept. at QC; Ibrahim Al Muftah, Head of Fundraising Department at QC; Osama Idrees, Community Welfare Attaché at the Pakistan Embassy; and several other key officials from QC and the Pakistan Embassy. Their presence underscored the critical importance of the ongoing partnership between PWF and QC in supporting the community’s welfare.
In his welcome address, Mohammad Israr Malazai, the first President of PWF, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the attendees for their ongoing commitment to welfare initiatives. He appealed to the Pakistani community in Qatar to continue supporting PWF’s mission to uplift the less fortunate, highlighting the organization’s role in transforming lives through charitable efforts.
Khalid Sajjad Bhatti, President of PWF, shared the accomplishments of various sub-committees involved in PWF’s welfare projects. He also introduced the members of the PWF Steering Committee, who played an integral part in organizing the event. He thanked all volunteers, committee members, and participants for their tireless dedication to the cause.
Riyaz Ahmed Bakali, a well-known social worker and FEC member, elaborated on PWF’s core objectives, which include providing education, social welfare, and medical and legal aid to low-income Pakistani expatriates. He spoke with passion about the establishment of Assalam Schools, a joint initiative with Education Above All Foundation, Qatar Charity, and the Ministry of Awqaf and Ministry of Education, which provides free education to numerous students in Qatar.
Chaudhary Parvez Iqbal, senior FEC member, delivered a motivational speech, urging attendees to support the less privileged. Citing verses from the Holy Quran and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he emphasized the significance of charity during Ramadan, inspiring participants to contribute generously to the cause.
Osama Idrees, the Community Welfare Attaché at the Pakistan Embassy, commended the unwavering dedication of the Pakistani community towards PWF’s welfare programs. He emphasized the significant impact these efforts have had on the lives of underprivileged Pakistani expatriates in Qatar. Osama also reiterated the Pakistan Embassy’s continued support for PWF’s welfare projects and urged the community to keep contributing for a better tomorrow.
Both Fareed Khalil Siddiqui and Khalid Fakhroo expressed optimism about the continued success of the partnership between QC and PWF. They highlighted the blessings of charitable acts during the holy month and encouraged everyone to make the most of the opportunity to help those in need.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Chaudhary Mohammad Ajmal, an FEC member, who acknowledged the extraordinary support of the Pakistani community and emphasized that the strength of PWF lies in the collective efforts of Pakistani forums and associations. Special arrangements were made by Qatar Charity to facilitate donations, ensuring the ongoing success of welfare projects that make a real difference in the lives of the less fortunate.
