Doha, April 13 (QNA) – HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held a session of official talks on Sunday with HE President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto at the Amiri Diwan, during the latter’s official visit to Qatar.
HH the Amir warmly welcomed President Prabowo and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay and expressing hope that the visit would further strengthen the close relations between the two friendly nations. He emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation to serve shared interests and benefit both peoples. President Prabowo conveyed his gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to enhancing bilateral ties across multiple sectors.
During the meeting, both leaders agreed to establish a joint investment fund worth USD 4 billion, aimed at boosting economic and development cooperation. Discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral partnerships in various sectors, particularly economy and investment, in addition to reviewing regional and global developments of mutual concern.
The session was attended by several senior Qatari officials, including HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, HE Amiri Diwan Chief Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, HE Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, and HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi.
On the Indonesian side, attendees included HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, HE Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, HE Minister of Investment and Downstream Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, HE Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, and HE Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait.
HH the Amir and President Prabowo also held a one-on-one discussion on advancing peace and stability and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic dialogue. HH the Amir later hosted a luncheon in honor of the Indonesian President and his delegation, who were earlier accorded an official reception ceremony at the Amiri Diwan.
