Doha, February 17 (QNA) – Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of Qatar, met at the Amiri Diwan on Tuesday with Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and his accompanying delegation.
At the outset, the Bahraini Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Amir, along with wishes for his continued health and happiness and for further progress and prosperity for the Qatari people. The Amir reciprocated by asking the Crown Prince to convey his greetings and best wishes of health and wellbeing to the Bahraini monarch, and for ongoing advancement for Bahrain and its people.
Both leaders exchanged congratulations on the approaching holy month of Ramadan, praying that it bring goodness and blessings to their countries and peoples, as well as to the wider Arab and Muslim worlds.
Talks during the meeting focused on the strong fraternal relations between Qatar and Bahrain and ways to enhance cooperation across various fields. The two sides also reviewed a number of regional and international developments of mutual concern. A separate bilateral session between the Amir and the Bahraini Crown Prince provided an opportunity to exchange views in greater depth on current regional and global issues.
The meeting was attended by senior Qatari officials, including the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, and Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi, along with several ministers and ranking officials.
On the Bahraini side, attendees included Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, and senior officials.
The Amir also hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of the Bahraini Crown Prince and his delegation.
