Qatar Amir, Pakistan’s Prime Minister discuss regional and International developments

Doha, September 11 (QNA) – HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani today held talks with HE Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Amiri Diwan, where discussions centered on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing pressing regional and international developments.
At the outset, HH the Amir welcomed HE the Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, underscoring the deep-rooted ties between Qatar and Pakistan and the importance of continued cooperation in all spheres. HH the Amir emphasized that the visit reflects the two nations’ shared commitment to advancing relations that serve the aspirations of their peoples.
For his part, HE Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the State of Qatar and its people. He voiced strong support for all measures taken by Qatar to safeguard its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. The Prime Minister strongly condemned the recent Israeli aggression, describing it as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law, while also undermining regional security, stability, and prospects for peace. He praised the leadership of HH the Amir and Qatar’s efforts in promoting peace, dialogue, and reconciliation in the region.
HH the Amir, in response, expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s supportive stance and the sincere fraternal sentiments conveyed by its leadership, reaffirming the importance of such solidarity in facing shared challenges.
The talks also covered regional and international issues of common concern, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East. Both leaders underlined the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution of disputes as the most effective means to address crises and safeguard regional and global security.
The meeting was attended on the Qatari side by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, and HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, along with several senior officials.
From the Pakistani side, attendees included HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ishaq Dar, HE Minister of Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif, HE Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and senior members of the delegation.
Following the plenary session, HH the Amir and HE the Prime Minister held a bilateral meeting in which they exchanged views on advancing cooperation in multiple areas and reaffirmed their shared vision for stability, peace, and prosperity in the region.
