Iftar and Doa Mahfil 2024 was held by Qatar Bangla Press Club, successfully taking place in the hall of Rose Bangla Place, Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Sunday, March 31.
General Secretary Amin Bepari conducted the event, and Bangladesh’s Honorable Ambassador to Qatar, Md. Nazrul Islam, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Presiding over the event was President of Qatar Bangla Press Club, E M Akash.
Special honor guests included Zakir Hossain Babu, President of Bangabandhu Parishad Qatar; Mohammad Kamal Uddin, Bangladesh Biman Country Manager; Habi Rahman, Proprietor of M H Gold; Shahajalal Gazi, President of Comilla Friends Club; Syed Anna Mia, Son of a Martyr Family; Md Dulal Uddin, a Prominent Businessman; and Sharif Alam. Businessmen Korban Ali Rasel, G M Urban Ship; Engineer Md. Salim, President of Daganbhuiyan Expatriate Foundation Central Committee; Belal Miyaji, Convener of Greater Comilla Expatriate Welfare Council; Mustafa Kamal, Senior Member of Bangladesh Volunteers Association; and Dr. Mohammad Asif, Member Secretary, were also present, among others.
Ghulam Mawla Hazari, senior vice-president of Qatar Bangla Press Club; Atiq Maula Mithu, Jubo League leader; and senior journalists AKM Aminul Haque, Yusuf Patwari Lincoin, Johnny, and Dolan Khan delivered welcome speeches at the event.
In his speech, the chief guest, the ambassador, remarked, ‘Qatar Bangla Press Club is a mirror of expatriates; I have witnessed the organization’s activities since my arrival, and every journalist within this organization maintains objectivity. On behalf of the Bangladesh Embassy, I extend my congratulations to all the journalists for their dedication to spreading news.’
A highlight of the Iftar mahfil was a raffle draw, courtesy of Shine Gold, which engaged expatriate Bangladeshis. The event was supported by MHR Gold
