Doha, March 26 (QNA) – The State of Qatar participated in the extraordinary session of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, held via videoconference on Thursday, to discuss developments in the social and humanitarian situation in Palestine and Lebanon amid ongoing regional challenges and humanitarian concerns.
Qatar was represented at the meeting by Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, Sheikha Shaikha bint Jassim Al-Thani. Qatar’s participation reflects its continued commitment to supporting joint Arab action and strengthening coordination on key social and humanitarian issues. It also highlights the country’s ongoing support for Arab initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable social development and reinforcing solidarity among Arab nations.
The meeting was chaired by Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity and Chair of the Executive Bureau, Maya Morsy, and was attended by ministers and heads of delegations from Arab countries. Participants reviewed the latest humanitarian and social developments in Palestine and Lebanon, particularly focusing on the urgent needs of affected communities and vulnerable groups.
Discussions also focused on ways to enhance joint Arab coordination to support humanitarian and social relief efforts in both countries. The participants emphasized the importance of unified Arab efforts to address current humanitarian challenges and improve social conditions.
Following the meeting, the Executive Bureau issued several decisions aimed at providing necessary social and humanitarian support to Palestine and Lebanon. The League of Arab States General Secretariat was tasked with coordinating with Egypt, as Chair of the Executive Bureau, to implement these decisions and support ongoing humanitarian initiatives.
