Moscow, November 12 (QNA) Qatar’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs secured second place at the prestigious 22nd Moscow International Quran Recitation Competition, held with participants from 32 countries. Representing Qatar, Abdulaziz Abdullah Ali Al Hamri competed in the Quran memorization category, reflecting Qatar’s dedication to Islamic values and traditions. The event was fully sponsored by Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad bin Thani Noble Quran Competition, highlighting the strong cultural and religious ties between Qatar and Russia.
During the award ceremony, Qatar’s Ambassador to Russia, Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al-Thani, expressed appreciation for the collaboration with Russian authorities and praised the Ministry’s commitment to fostering Islamic awareness. Chairman of Qatar’s Quran Competition, Malullah bin Abdulrahman Al Jaber, acknowledged Russia’s Spiritual Assembly for their role in organizing the event, which included programs aimed at promoting accurate Islamic teachings. The competition’s accompanying events, running until November 14, serve to deepen understanding of the Holy Quran and enhance cross-cultural connections.
