The Forum marks the latest initiative to empower youth and shape global visions
Doha, Qatar: QatarDebate Center is preparing to host one of the world’s leading youth-focused platforms for global dialogue. The Doha Forum: Youth Edition 2025 will take place at Education City on December 3-4 at the Multaqa building, bringing together more than 150 young changemakers from over 100 countries, including 110 international participants and 40 from Qatar.
Jointly organized by QatarDebate Center and the Doha Forum, and supported by the Ministry of Sports and Youth and Media City Qatar as strategic partners, the Youth Edition reflects a deep commitment to engaging young people in global conversations and future policymaking.
Conducted in conjunction with the Doha Forum, one of the world’s leading platforms for global dialogue, the Youth Edition aligns with this year’s theme, “Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress.” The event brings together leaders, decision-makers, and experts to explore how youth can contribute to tangible global progress.
Reem Al Musallam, Director of Communications at QatarDebate, emphasized that this edition embodies the Center’s mission to promote a culture of dialogue. “We aim to empower young minds by creating an environment that allows them to develop their skills and express their visions confidently and effectively. We are pleased to see participants engage in constructive discussions that will yield recommendations paving the way for real change.”
She added, “The Youth Edition is a vital bridge connecting young people’s perspectives with global policymaking. Enabling their participation is a pivotal step toward a future where promises are transformed into tangible progress, and QatarDebate is proud to welcome this distinguished group of young leaders to Doha.”
A Comprehensive Program for Practical Empowerment
Since its launch in 2017, the Youth Edition has established itself as a leading platform offering young people meaningful opportunities to showcase their ideas and engage directly with critical global issues. The 2025 edition builds on this foundation by focusing on themes such as geopolitics, economic development, emerging technologies, cultural diplomacy, and security. The event is designed to fuel active youth engagement in shaping a more just and prosperous future, in line with QatarDebate’s mission to advance dialogue and debate as tools for knowledge empowerment.
The two-day program will feature advanced training sessions on negotiation, conflict resolution, policy impact, and dialogue, led by international experts and influential youth leaders who will address contemporary complex global challenges.
The agenda also includes three roundtables designed to generate actionable recommendations for presentation at the Doha Forum. These include “Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress,”
“Who Holds the Line? Rethinking Responsibility in Geopolitics,” and “The Digital Battlefield: The New Arena of Power.”
Influential Speakers
This year’s Youth Forum will feature keynote addresses from prominent global figures, as well as sessions led by young specialists and experts. The Forum is committed to blending academic insight with practical experience, offering participants a holistic understanding of interconnected global issues.
Speakers include Tirana Hassan, CEO of Doctors Without Borders USA and former Executive Director of Human Rights Watch; Suad Abdel aziz, Sudanese-American lawyer and founder of Decolonize Sudan; Aaron Maté, Canadian writer and journalist; Ahmed Shihab Eldin, journalist, actor, and media personality; Dr. Roxane Farmanfarmaian, Director of International Studies and Global Politics at the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education; Mohanad Hashim, BBC World Service journalist; Alia Hammouri, media personality and content creator; and Eng. Nayef Al-Ibrahim, Founding Partner and CEO of Ibtechar Digital Solutions.
The Youth edition also features a lineup of young speakers including Bora Kamwanya, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Ministry of Human Rights in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Vice President of the Pan-African Youth Union for Diaspora Affairs; Maha Alharoon, Georgetown University in Qatar graduate and three-time National Debating League champion; Noor Azizah, Co-Founder of the Rohingya Maìyafuìnor Collaborative Network and member of Australia’s Refugee Advisory Group; and Sarah Choong, Humanitarian Affairs Officer at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
Cultural and Recreational Experiences
The experience extends beyond intellectual engagement. Participants will participate in culturally immersive experiences, including a tour of Education City’s facilities, a trip to the desert, and a cultural exchange evening celebrating global diversity and fostering connections among youth from varied backgrounds. As part of the recreational program, participants will also attend a FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 match at Education City Stadium on December 5, with support from the Ministry of Sports and Youth. The program also includes a museum visit sponsored by Media City Qatar, among other activities.
