QIFF Super Cup 2025 – Grand Launch Marks the Beginning of Season 16

Doha: The Qatar Indian Football Forum (QIFF) officially kicked off Season 16 with the spectacular launch of the QIFF Super Cup 2025, held recently at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel.
The grand ceremony brought together an impressive gathering of dignitaries, diplomats, sports officials, and community leaders from Qatar and India, celebrating nearly two decades of football, friendship, and cultural unity.
The event was inaugurated by Mansoor Mohammed Al Ansari, General Secretary of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), who commended the Indian community’s active involvement in promoting sports in Qatar.
“The enthusiasm and commitment of the Indian community, particularly QIFF, have played a vital role in strengthening Qatar’s football culture. Their contribution has enriched both professional and community-level football in the country,” he remarked.
H.E. Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, attended the event as the Chief Guest, delivering an inspiring keynote address and unveiling the QIFF Super Cup 2025 Trophy to a packed audience of guests and football enthusiasts.
The Super Cup was jointly launched by a distinguished panel of guests, including Mohammed bin Hammam, Former FIFA Goal Bureau Chairman and Former President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC); Ahmed Ali Bukshaisha, Advisory Council Member of Qatar and Former Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance; Hassan Al Khalifa; and Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing, QFA.
Also present were Lt. Hamad Fahhad Al Shammari from the Community Policing Department and Lt. Abdul Rahman Al Jassim from the Qatar Police Sports Federation, symbolizing strong institutional support from Qatar’s sports and community authorities.
During the ceremony, Dr. Mohamed Althaf, Group Director of LuLu Group International, was officially announced as the Chief Patron of QIFF, recognizing his remarkable contributions to sports, youth empowerment, and community development.
Sharaf Hameed, President of QIFF, delivered the presidential address, extending heartfelt gratitude to all partners and supporters. He expressed special appreciation to the Qatar Football Association, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and Qatar’s visionary sports leadership for their unwavering encouragement and provision of world-class sporting infrastructure to the expatriate community.
“The main reason behind QIFF’s success is the consistent support and partnership of the QFA and the Qatar Sports Ministry. Their cooperation has helped us elevate community football to international standards,” said Hameed.
He also acknowledged the continued support of the Indian Embassy and Ambassador Vipul, highlighting their efforts in strengthening sports diplomacy and cultural harmony.
“The Indian Embassy and Ambassador Vipul have always been our strongest pillars. Their motivation and collaboration have strengthened QIFF’s mission of bringing people together through football,” he added.
The event was attended by several Qatari dignitaries, heads of Indian apex community bodies, team managers, sponsors, and senior sports figures from across Qatar, making the evening truly memorable and marking a powerful start to QIFF Season 16.
