QNA Director-General Meets Syrian Minister of Information

Doha, October 20 (QNA) – HE Director-General of Qatar News Agency (QNA) Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi met on Monday with HE Minister of Information of the Syrian Arab Republic Dr. Hamza Al Mustafa, who is currently visiting the State of Qatar.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance media cooperation between the two brotherly countries and to develop mechanisms within the framework of the distinguished relations between Qatar and Syria.
During his visit to the QNA headquarters, HE the Syrian Minister and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the agency’s news and media services, its role in serving national interests, and the process of coverage, transmission, and broadcasting of news and events. The delegation was informed of QNA’s modern systems and platforms, which ensure innovative, fast, and credible news dissemination using advanced technical, engineering, and training technologies.
The visit included a presentation on QNA’s 50-year journey since its establishment in May 1975, highlighting its professional expertise and adoption of the latest technologies, including artificial intelligence, to keep pace with global developments in journalism. The delegation also toured several departments and training facilities equipped with advanced interactive tools that support and develop national media cadres in line with Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy (2024–2030).
At the conclusion of the visit, HE Dr. Hamza Al Mustafa commended Qatar’s steadfast support for the Syrian people and praised QNA’s pioneering media role and credible journalistic approach, describing it as a leading model in the Arab media landscape.
He expressed hope for greater media cooperation and exchange of expertise between the two countries.
For his part, HE Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi welcomed the delegation and affirmed QNA’s readiness to cooperate with the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) to strengthen bilateral media ties.
