Moscow, March 23 (QNA) – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that its forces have taken control of a new town in eastern Ukraine, while also claiming to have eliminated 1,380 Ukrainian soldiers and downed 224 drones.
In a statement, the ministry reported that Russian forces had seized the town of Sribne in Donetsk Oblast. It further noted that Russian forces targeted Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in 138 locations across the Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk Oblasts.
According to the ministry, Ukrainian forces suffered significant equipment losses, including dozens of armored vehicles, combat vehicles, field artillery, ammunition depots, reconnaissance stations, and electronic warfare systems.
It is important to note that reports from both Russia and Ukraine regarding battlefield developments often conflict, and independent verification of these claims remains challenging due to the ongoing war, which began on February 24, 2022
