Russia will continue maintaining contact with the United States regarding the Ukraine issue, the Kremlin said, expressing hope that Washington will play a constructive role in efforts aimed at resolving the conflict.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that ongoing communication between Moscow and Washington could help create conditions necessary for reaching a settlement. He noted that each round of contact may represent a step toward finding a solution, stressing that any settlement must take into account Russia’s interests and concerns.
Peskov reiterated that Russia remains open to negotiations and hopes the United States will continue contributing to diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the Ukraine issue through dialogue and political means.
Since the beginning of this year, representatives from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine have held three rounds of trilateral talks, with the most recent meeting taking place in Geneva in February.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that its air defense systems intercepted hundreds of drones on the front line, while Ukrainian forces said their drones struck an energy facility and a vessel in Russia’s Leningrad region overnight, reflecting continued tensions on the ground.
