Moscow – August 3, 2025, Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 41 Ukrainian drones across several regions within a span of just over three hours on Saturday evening.
According to the ministry, the wave of drones was brought down between 8:00 p.m. and 11:25 p.m. Moscow time. All interceptions were carried out by on-duty air defense units, and no casualties or damage have been reported so far.
While the ministry did not specify the targeted areas, the incident marks one of the largest single-day drone interceptions reported in recent weeks, reflecting heightened aerial activity and ongoing tensions between the two countries.
The Russian government has repeatedly blamed Ukraine for increasing drone incursions into its territory, while Kyiv has not officially commented on the latest event.
The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in drone warfare amid the ongoing conflict.
