MOSCOW, Jan. 25 — Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that its forces conducted coordinated strikes on Ukraine’s energy and military-related infrastructure across several regions.
According to the ministry, the operation targeted an energy facility described as supporting Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, along with a production workshop and storage and launch sites for long-range drones. Russian forces also struck temporary deployment locations used by Ukrainian armed units and foreign fighters in 159 areas.
In addition, the ministry stated that its air defense systems intercepted two guided bombs, 31 rockets fired from U.S.-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, and 68 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles. Russian forces said the strikes aimed to reduce Ukraine’s operational capabilities and prevent further attacks on civilian areas.
The statement did not provide independent verification of the claims. The developments come amid continued hostilities and intensified military activity between the two sides, raising concerns about escalating conflict and regional stability.
