Kyiv, March 18 (QNA) – The Ukrainian army announced on Tuesday that the number of Russian soldiers killed and wounded since the beginning of the war between the two countries more than two years ago has risen to approximately 897,010, including 1,560 soldiers killed or wounded in the past 24 hours.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated in a statement that Ukrainian forces destroyed 10,352 tanks, 21,509 armored combat vehicles, 24,640 artillery systems, 1,319 multiple launch rocket systems, and 1,107 air defense systems. It added that 370 aircraft, 331 helicopters, 29,616 drones, 3,121 cruise missiles, 28 warships, one submarine, 40,892 vehicles and fuel tanks, and 3,780 units of special equipment were also destroyed.
Since the outbreak of the military operation in Ukraine in 2022, there have been conflicting reports about the extent of losses suffered by both sides in the conflict, with each side claiming to have inflicted heavy losses on the other. This information has not been independently verified due to the ongoing fighting.
