Sahibzada Farhan to lead Pakistan Shaheens in upcoming Australia tour

KARACHI, 12 July 2024: Sahibzada Farhan has been appointed captain of Pakistan Shaheens for two four-day matches against Bangladesh ‘A’ in Darwin, Australia, from 19 to 29 July. The 28-year-old has played five T20Is for Pakistan and 58 first-class matches, scoring 4,401 runs, including eight centuries and 27 half-centuries.
Pakistan Shaheens will also play two 50-over matches and a nine-team T20 tournament in Darwin. The captain for the white-ball series will be announced later.
The 15-member squad will depart for Darwin early Saturday from Karachi via Dubai. Spinner Faisal Akram replaces fast bowler Hunain Shah, who was ruled out due to a back injury.
Jason Gillespie, Pakistan’s red-ball head coach, will travel with the team and return to Pakistan in early August after the second four-day match. He will then prepare the national side for the two-Test series against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
