Tashkent, October 16 (QNA) – The second session of the Qatari-Uzbek Joint Committee for Economic, Trade, and Technical Cooperation was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with senior officials and representatives from both public and private sectors attending.
HE Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, chaired Qatar’s delegation, while HE Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, chaired the Uzbek side.
According to a statement from Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the session reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and expand economic cooperation between Qatar and Uzbekistan, highlighting a shared strategic vision to enhance trade and investment partnerships.
In his opening remarks, HE Dr. Al Sayed stressed the depth and rapid growth of Qatari-Uzbek relations and underlined the importance of activating the private sector through the Qatari-Uzbek Businessmen Council, which aims to expand joint projects and facilitate investor communication. He also emphasized enhancing direct air links between Doha and Tashkent to boost trade, tourism, and economic exchange.
HE Dr. Al Sayed highlighted the committee’s role as a strategic platform for developing a roadmap for bilateral cooperation, monitoring joint initiatives, and ensuring the sustainability of the partnership.
On the sidelines, HE Dr. Al Sayed met with HE Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and explore sustainable economic partnerships, reflecting both countries’ aspirations for joint growth and greater prosperity.
