Sheikh Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah, Sheikh of the Pakistani-Omani community and Chairman of SFG Group, hosted a special dinner reception honoring Pakistan and Oman field hockey players, coaches, and officials on 24 February 2026 at the Park Inn by Radisson (SFG Hotels & Resorts). The event celebrated the visiting Pakistan Hockey Team and brought together community members, sports enthusiasts, and prominent dignitaries in a warm atmosphere promoting sports, unity, and cultural exchange.
Senior officials from the Oman Hockey Federation, along with members of the Oman Hockey Team, attended the gathering, reflecting strong sporting ties and mutual respect between the two nations. The evening provided an opportunity for players, officials, and community leaders to interact, share experiences, and strengthen relationships beyond the playing field.
Addressing the guests, Sheikh Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah emphasized the importance of supporting national teams abroad and encouraging youth participation in sports. He noted that such community-led initiatives not only honor athletes but also inspire younger generations to pursue excellence while fostering goodwill across communities.
The event was attended by a wide cross-section of prominent Pakistani community members, business leaders, and social figures, who appreciated the initiative and praised the organizers for recognizing hockey — a sport deeply rooted in Pakistan’s sporting heritage.
Speakers highlighted that events like these serve as bridges between cultures, strengthen people-to-people connections, and encourage collaboration in sports development. The presence of both Pakistan and Oman hockey representatives underscored growing cooperation in promoting sportsmanship and healthy competition.
The evening concluded with prayers, group interactions, and expressions of appreciation for the continued support extended by community leaders toward visiting teams and youth sporting activities. Such initiatives continue to unite the diaspora and showcase the spirit of hospitality, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
