The 3rd Edition of the Sohni Dharti Junior Football Tournament
concluded with remarkable success and vibrant community participation
in Al Khor Community, Qatar. Organized for the Pakistani community,
the tournament featured two age categories — 7–12 years and 13–17
years — with the participation of over 160 young footballers, making it
one of the largest and most enthusiastic junior sporting events in the
area.
The tournament was organized under the leadership of Chairman Anwar
Ali Rana and Sports Secretary Zafar Chandio, whose dedication and
tireless efforts turned the event into a grand success. Zafar Chandio
worked day and night to ensure smooth arrangements, including the
provision of colourful and attractive kits for each team, which added
professionalism and excitement to the competition.
The event was held with the strong support of the SD Executive
Committee, including Mr. Umer Khayyam (Vice President), Gulzar
Hussain (Vice President), Mohsin Ali (General Secretary), Omar Irshad
(Cultural Secretary), and Masoodudin (Finance Secretary) and Ghulam
Farid (Content Writer). The volunteers also played a vital role, extending
excellent support throughout the tournament and contributing
significantly to its smooth execution.
Importantly, every team was assigned dedicated coaches to guide and
mentor the young players, ensuring discipline, skill development, and
sportsmanship throughout the competition.
7–12 Years CategoryThe younger age group displayed tremendous enthusiasm and emerging

In an exciting and high-scoring final, Multan Saints defeated Hunza
Horseman 6–2 to claim the championship title.

Best Goalkeeper: Qasim Waqar
Best Player: Ahmad Bilal
13–17 Years Category The senior category featured competitive and
high-quality football matches. Team captains included:•

After thrilling matches, Karachi Knights emerged as champions in a
penalty shootout, while Quetta Gunners secured the runner-up position.

Grand Prize Distribution Ceremony
he tournament concluded with a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony held
at Rotana Restaurant, where winners and runners-up were presented
with beautiful trophies and medals. Additionally, four players from each
team were honored with the “Most Dedicated Player” award, recognizing
their commitment, discipline, and dedication throughout the
tournament.
The children were delighted with the beautifully designed trophies and
medals. The celebration continued with a delightful meal after the presentation ceremony, and the young participants thoroughly enjoyed
both the recognition and the post-event gathering, making it a
memorable evening for families and players alike.
On this occasion, Chairman Anwar Ali Rana encouraged parents to
actively involve their children in sports and healthy activities rather than
excessive use of mobile phones. He emphasized that sports promote
physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and positive character
development among youth.
The 3rd Edition of the Sohni Dharti Junior Football Tournament stands
as another milestone for the Pakistani community in Qatar. With over
160 young participants, dedicated coaches, strong volunteer support,
and committed leadership, the event successfully promoted unity,
sportsmanship, and healthy engagement among the youth.
Sohni Dharti continues to provide an inspiring platform for nurturing
future sporting talent and strengthening community bonds through
sports.
