he Middle East Council on Global Affairs (ME Council) and Qatar Research, Development & Innovation (QRDI) Council, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Doha Forum to deepen collaboration on scientific research, development, and innovation.
Dr. Khalid Al Jaber, Executive Director of ME Council, and Dr. Mohammed Al Housani, Director of Research and Advocacy at QRDI Council, signed the MoU in the presence of Eng. Omar Ali Al Ansari, Secretary General of QRDI Council.
Through this partnership, the two institutions will jointly advance scientific research, development and innovation, through governance, diplomacy and development of Qatar’s RDI ecosystem. The MoU establishes a framework for co-producing policy papers, data-driven analyses, and expert exchanges to support evidence-based policymaking and capacity-building initiatives. It also enables the co-organization of dialogues, workshops, and stakeholder engagements that bring together national and regional actors to discuss emerging opportunities and challenges in science and innovation.
By combining the ME Council’s policy expertise with QRDI Council’s leadership in RDI strategy, the partnership aims to inform national and regional policymaking processes and contribute to the growth of a knowledge-based economy in Qatar and the wider region.
The ME Council is an independent, non-profit policy research institution that conducts policy-relevant research, convenes meetings and dialogues, and engages policy actors on geopolitical and socioeconomic issues specific to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
QRDI Council is the national body responsible for steering Qatar’s research, development, and innovation (RDI) agenda, working to strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
