TNG School Celebrates 15 Years of Shaping Future Leaders and Educational Excellence in Qatar

The Next Generation (TNG) School marked a historic milestone on 1st February 2025, celebrating 15 years of
excellence in quality education in Qatar. The anniversary event highlighted TNG’s legacy of academic
innovation, community engagement, and its commitment to nurturing future leaders.

Ms. Shagufta Bakali, Chief Executive Officer, The Next Generation School, delivered the opening remarks,
expressing heartfelt gratitude for the collective efforts of the TNG community. “What began with humble
aspirations has grown into a journey of achievements. Today’s milestone reflects the dedication and
commitment of everyone involved, and we look forward to scaling even greater heights in the years to come,”
she said, reflecting on the school’s growth since its founding in 2009.

Taking the stage with vibrant energy were the Young Explorers from the EYFS. With remarkable confidence
and boundless creativity, these young learners captivated the audience, leaving everyone in awe of their
charm and enthusiasm. Their delightful interaction on technology, futuristic concepts, robots, and space
became a touching highlight of the event, brilliantly showcasing the nurturing environment that fuels their
growth. As they proudly unveiled their inventive creations, they truly demonstrated that they are the
engineers of tomorrow, brimming with curiosity and innovation. They were followed by a captivating
presentation by the Scouts and Girl Guides. They highlighted Qatar’s national identity, emphasizing the
nation’s commitment to equality, justice, and prosperity, embracing all with brotherhood and love, and
standing as a symbol of peace and togetherness for the world.

Mr. Riyaz Ahmed Bakali, Director, The Next Generation School, then delivered an insightful talk on “My Right
to Become Wise.” He elaborated on the idea that, in today’s world, intelligence is often measured in numbers,
but what children truly need is wisdom, the ability to think critically, act ethically, and use knowledge for the
greater good. He emphasized that at TNG, the focus is not only on nurturing intelligence but also on cultivating
wisdom. This commitment is evident in the fact that, over the past 15 years, TNG students have consistently
achieved top scores in Qatar and worldwide. Additionally, TNG takes pride in its numerous in-house
publications, managed by teachers and campus leadership, and its dynamic, year-round Youth Leadership
Program, which empowers students to become future leaders.

The ceremony was graced by His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Aamer, Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar, who
was the chief guest for the occasion. In his keynote address, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Muhammad Aamer praised
TNG’s firm commitment to education, stating, “Fifteen years of steadfast dedication to delivering quality
education is an extraordinary achievement. This milestone stands as a testament to the vision, perseverance,
and dedication of the school’s leadership and team members.” He extended his best wishes for continued
success in the years ahead.

The celebration continued with another segment – The Innovators’ Roundtable. During this primary students
explored the theme “Shaping a Sustainable Future.” Winners of the 15th and 16th National Scientific Research
competitions presented their award-winning projects: Sustainable & Affordable Cooling Pads and Managing E-
Waste through Responsible Interactive Whiteboard Disposal. These students shared their inspirations,
showcasing their commitment to sustainable solutions.
The Youth Pioneers segment featured the entrepreneurial talent of secondary students. The Top 4 contestants
presented innovative projects, with the winning project, Beeyond Plastic, receiving the Most Enterprising
Award, presented by Ms. Daana Al Dafa, Director of Partnership & Business Development at Qatar Manpower
Solutions, and H.E. Mr. Farhan Al Sheikh Al Sayed, a distinguished entrepreneur, and philanthropist.
Special mementos were also presented to several distinguished guests for their gracious presence. These
included H.E. Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Qatar, and H.E. Mr. Ridwan Hassan,
Ambassador of Indonesia to Qatar. The mementos served as tokens of appreciation for their participation in
this memorable occasion.
A key highlight of the event was a thoughtful and engaging panel discussion featuring TNG’s leadership,
moderated by Principal Ms. Ailia Rizvi. The campus heads shared insights into the innovative strategies and
initiatives they have implemented at their respective campuses, all aligned with TNG’s mission and vision of
academic excellence and holistic student development. The heads emphasised the practice of empowering
teams to lead, innovate, and inspire, expressing gratitude to TNG for fostering leadership and autonomy in
shaping the learning experience. This segment underscored the collaborative and forward-thinking spirit that
drives TNG’s continued success in delivering transformative education.
The ceremony also honoured organizations that have been instrumental in advancing Qatar’s education
sector, continuing TNG’s tradition of recognizing those who have made significant contributions to
education.The Education Awards were conferred by TNG upon several distinguished entities in recognition of
their exceptional partnerships and sustained impact on education. Recipients included Expo 2023 – Dr. Fayqa
Abdullah Ashkanani- Director of Public Relations, Department, Ministry of Municipality; Sheikh Faisal Museum,
represented by Mr. Mahmoud Saber – Education Officer; QD-SBG, received by Mr. Muthanna Al Rashwani –
Chief Executive Officer; and Kidzania, acknowledged through Ms. Hela Guedoir – Group Sales Manager. These
honors highlight their dedication to fostering educational growth and innovation in Qatar.
The ceremony continued with a celebration of students’ excellence, as the prestigious Cambridge Outstanding
Learners Awards were presented by H.E. Mr. Muhammad Aamer (Ambassador of Pakistan), TNG’s Senior
Management Team, and Mr. Ian Cortez from the British Council. Ayaan Ali Pirzada was honoured as the top
student in Qatar for Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives, Muhammad Ahmed Yasir achieved the highest
distinction in Qatar for Cambridge IGCSE Islamiyat, and Anas Ali Khan secured third place in Qatar for
Cambridge AS Level – Best Across Four.
TNG also honoured its team members with Long Service Awards, recognising those who have contributed five,
ten, and fifteen years of service to the school. These awards celebrated the invaluable role of educators,
administrators, and support staff in shaping the school’s success over the years.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Shahla Riyaz Bakali, Chief
Administrative Officer of The Next Generation School. She expressed sincere gratitude to the Senior
Management Team, Campus Leadership, Teachers, Administrative Team Members, Support Team Members,

Parents, and Community Members for their steadfast dedication and collective efforts in making TNG a
continued success over the past 15 years.
Since its establishment in 2009, TNG School has become a cornerstone of Qatar’s educational sector, serving
TNG serves nearly 2,700 students across 8 campuses, supported by over 450 team members dedicated to
fostering academic excellence, personal growth, and social responsibility. As it moves forward, TNG reaffirms
its commitment to inspiring future generations and supporting Qatar's vision of a knowledge-driven society,
aligning with Qatar Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
