Washington: US President Donald Trump said members of the newly formed Board of Peace will announce pledges exceeding $5 billion for Gaza reconstruction and thousands of personnel for a planned international stabilization force at a February 19 meeting in Washington.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Board of Peace representatives would gather at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace to unveil commitments supporting humanitarian relief and rebuilding efforts in Gaza. He added that member states have also pledged security personnel for an International Stabilization Force alongside local police to help maintain order and stability.
The initiative follows the White House’s recent announcement of a “technocratic” National Committee for the Administration of Gaza to oversee governance during a transition phase under Trump’s 20-point plan for the war-affected enclave.
Further details on participating countries and deployment timelines are expected at Thursday’s gathering, Anadolu Agency reported, describing the pledges as part of wider international efforts to support Gaza’s recovery and post-conflict administration.
