WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump is weighing possible military action against Iran as tensions with Israel and Tehran escalate into a sixth day of conflict.
According to US media, Trump discussed potential strikes on Iran’s underground nuclear site at Fordo during a high-level security meeting Tuesday. Sources say any US involvement could include precision attacks using advanced weaponry.
Trump’s tone has hardened in recent days. In a social media post, he demanded Iran’s “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” and warned Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei: “We know exactly where he is… He is an easy target… Our patience is wearing thin.”
In response, Khamenei vowed Iran would “never surrender” and warned of “irreparable harm” if the US intervenes militarily.
The Pentagon has moved at least 30 military aircraft from the US to Europe, signaling a shift in posture. While officials deny plans for immediate action, experts call the deployment “highly unusual” and part of possible strategic pressure.
Israel continues its offensive, striking Iranian nuclear and military facilities, including a centrifuge plant and missile production site. Though no new casualties were reported overnight, the death toll from both sides continues to rise.
Trump, who withdrew from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal during his first term, has expressed frustration with stalled negotiations and now appears less committed to diplomacy.
Analysts say the US is closer than ever to entering the conflict, though some advisors urge restraint. Observers remain unsure if Trump will act or use the threat to force Iran or Israel to the table.
