Former US President Donald Trump, currently facing multiple federal and state charges for allegedly attempting to overturn his 2020 election loss to President Joe Biden, maintains that he had “every right” to intervene in the election process. He continues to assert that the legal cases against him are driven by political motives.
In a recent interview on Fox News, Trump remarked, “It’s unbelievable. My poll numbers actually go up. Who’s ever heard of getting indicted for interfering in a presidential election when you have every right to do it, and then seeing your poll numbers rise? Typically, when people face indictments, their numbers fall.”
Trump is facing federal charges in Washington, DC, related to his alleged efforts to undermine the 2020 election results. Additionally, he is charged in Georgia with racketeering and other offenses in connection to attempts to overturn the election results in that state.
“This is the worst case of election interference our country has ever seen,” Trump stated, further claiming that the prosecutions against him are politically motivated and orchestrated by the Department of Justice to target him as a political opponent.
