Ankara, August 19 (QNA) – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held phone calls Tuesday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, and German Foreign Minister Johann Vadfull to discuss developments in Gaza and Ukraine.
According to sources at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the conversations also discussed the outcomes of the recent meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, as well as possible steps to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
the Turkish Foreign Minister reaffirmed Turkiye’s readiness to provide all forms of support to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the White House hosted high-level talks Monday bringing together President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
