Ankara, August 21 (QNA) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the potential peace process between Russia and Ukraine and the latest developments in the Gaza Strip in a phone call Thursday with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
During the call, Erdogan stressed his country’s continued efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian war with a just peace and its readiness to host any peace negotiations between the two countries.
He noted Ankara’s close monitoring of the talks held in Alaska and Washington.
Regarding the genocide waged by the Israeli occupation against Gaza, Erdogan affirmed Turkiye’s efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Strip, which is witnessing a major humanitarian disaster.
He called for the need to restrain Israel’s recklessness, which is accelerating its plan to occupy Gaza.
