ISTANBUL – On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan officially welcomed Sultan Haitham bin Tariq al Said of Oman at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. This marks the first visit to Türkiye by an Omani head of state.
The welcoming ceremony was attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, and other senior officials. The event took place at Esenboga University, where both leaders were greeted by dignitaries.
Following the official welcome, bilateral discussions and delegation-level meetings are scheduled. The visit will culminate in an agreement signing ceremony between the two countries.
After the meetings, Sultan Haitham and President Erdogan are expected to address the media in a joint news conference. This historic visit is expected to further strengthen the ties between Türkiye and Oman, particularly in the areas of diplomacy, trade, and defense.
