Ankara, November 03 (QNA) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is committed to the ceasefire agreement, while Israel continues its occupation and killings in Gaza and the West Bank.
Erdogan made the remarks during his speech at the opening of the 41st meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC). He pointed out that, although Hamas is “highly committed” to the ceasefire, Israel’s record in this regard is very poor.
He noted that Israel has killed more than 200 Palestinians in Gaza since the ceasefire came into effect, in addition to continuing attacks in the West Bank.
Erdogan added that Israel must not be allowed to annex the West Bank, alter the status of Jerusalem, or undermine the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
On another matter, the Turkish president said that his country will add eight more projects this year to the 20 projects already implemented under the “COMCEC Jerusalem Program.”
Regarding Sudan, Erdogan said that Turkiye cannot remain silent about the massacres in the city of El Fasher, stressing the importance of protecting Sudan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence.
He also announced the launch of a special support program for Syria under the umbrella of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
