Erdogan Confirms Humanitarian Aid for Gaza and Diplomatic Outreach in Region
Istanbul, November 9 (RKI) – Türkiye will dispatch a high-level delegation to Pakistan next week to discuss rising tensions with Afghanistan, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Sunday.
The delegation will include Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yasar Guler, and Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin, who are expected to hold talks in Islamabad aimed at easing regional strains and strengthening coordination between Ankara and Islamabad.
Speaking to reporters on his return from Azerbaijan, President Erdogan also revealed that Türkiye is preparing to send containers from its earthquake-hit regions to Gaza to shelter displaced civilians, describing the initiative as “not only humanitarian aid, but a moral duty.”
Erdogan further underlined that winds of peace are blowing in the South Caucasus following Azerbaijan’s Karabakh victory, reaffirming that Türkiye’s normalization with Armenia will continue in step with Baku.
On the situation in Sudan, Erdogan said Türkiye “cannot remain a bystander” and will maintain diplomatic efforts to restore peace and stability.
He also expressed optimism regarding progress on the F-35 fighter jet issue after recent discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump, voicing hope that Washington will honor its commitments.
