RIYADH, March 24, U.S. and Russian delegations commenced a fresh round of negotiations in Saudi Arabia on Monday, focusing on a Ukraine settlement and a potential Black Sea ceasefire deal as part of broader diplomatic efforts.
The discussions follow a U.S.-Ukraine meeting in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. Last week, former U.S. President Donald Trump held separate phone talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, signaling renewed engagement in conflict resolution.
The U.S. delegation is led by Andrew Peek from the White House National Security Council and senior State Department official Michael Anton. Representing Russia are Grigory Karasin, chair of the Federation Council’s Foreign Affairs Committee, and Sergei Beseda, an adviser to the Federal Security Service director.
Saudi Arabia continues to serve as a key mediator in the conflict, facilitating diplomatic dialogues aimed at de-escalation and peace.
